Are leaders "Born" or "Made"?

The question is misguided:

Leaders don't have to change the world, the ones that do might be "Born".

Leaders have to motivate their team, which is realistic for most people. Some need more training and work than others. Many leaders feel like their doing a great job (because of little criticism or powerful positions) and do very little to improve themselves. If leaders are open to learning, their leadership skills can be improved to an extend. **

    • Naturally have personality profiles for effective leading
    • Others work hard to gain this
  • Talent is muss less important for leadership than in sports
  • Most important: willingness to learn to become a better leader, honest reflection on strengths and weaknesses (what needs to be improved) —> many organisations have lots of bad leadership
  • Studies show: most of these behaviours can be learned: empowering and visionary leadership, effective communication, conflict resolution
